Tall figure of Venus in terracotta. Oriental type, arms extended, opening her veil. She stands on a plinth, holding a fruit (pomegranate ?) in her right hand. Wearing a composite headdress, perhaps a diadema, suggesting a Phenician influence. Similar figures from the eastern Roman empire can be found in the Louvre.
Small chips. Head reattached. Two holes filed with brown material, three other still visible. Some encrustations.
Similar figures from North Africa can be found in the Louvre. The figure is not well balanced, and does not stand up on its own.
