A pentagonal belt mount showing rare romano-germanic ornamentation, from a military belt of the IV-V c. A.D.
The ornamentation is a rare example of meeting from roman animal and germanic geometric styles.
The geometric style develops within a pentagonal frame, with four flowers or waves.
The termination of the mount show two reclining animals, dogs or panthers, about to bite on a stylised head, which is quite rare,
and refers to germanic representations.
Partial depatination. Small visible lacks, one rivet missing.
