Etruscan Bucchero Nero Plate
 

      
 

 

   Etruscan "bucchero nero" ceramic plate. The bucchero nero, an Etruscan ceramics technology, was invented by the Villanovian culture
   and mastered by Etruscan crafstmen. It is said that the deep, brilliant black luster was intended to imitate metallic vessel.

   Traces show that the plate has been actually used in the Antiquity, whereas a lot of ceramics found in tombs are votive.

   Small geological incrustations and wear. Two very small cracks, and a little chip visible on the back. Unrestored.
