Anglo-Saxon Buckle Plate w. Garnets

Anglo-Saxon buckle plate with interlaced design and 3 remaining garnets.
Where garnets have disappeared, the gold wafers used to strengthen the garnet in place and reflect light are visible.

This buckle-plate was probably associated with a strap or accessory, because of its size.

In this lot comes also an Anglo-Saxon artefact, probably a pin head, made from a gold sheet with very nice interlaced design, unfortunately incomplete.
