Nuremberg XVII c. alms dish
 

     

 

 

   A very large brass alms dish typical of Nuremberg South German production of the late 16 - early 17 th. century.

   The raised central boss with a plain roundel surrounded by embossed petals. It is surrounded by two rows stamped with vegetal motives,
   and a gadrooned cavetto. The flanged everted rim is stamped with inverted arcading motifs.

   The detail is somewhat worn out. Pierced. Ex.Sotheby's New York.
