   Massive bronze Christ corpus from a processional cross around 1500, typical of Auvergne / Massif Central production in central France.

   The body is solid with prominent ribs, massive torso, expressionist drapery and face features are rather rough, resulting from the original.
   function of this figure. Mounted on a processional or altar cross, it was designed to be impressive at distance.
