Adorable small biscuit groupe from the Manufacture Royale de Sèvres of the XVIII th century, after a model of the sculptor Etienne-Maurice Falconet, who headed the Sèvres manufactury from 1757 to 1766, representing a little girl carrying a basket and supporting her dog.
Falconet was inspired by a drawing by François Boucher. These preparatory drawings were engraved and published in 1761, our "petite fille au chien" appearing under the number A.4
The handle of the basket is missing. Some elements seem glued together with expertise using a material recognizable with a bluish tint slightly visible on the dog's hind leg, the upper basket, the girl's neck and left hand.
Marking on the base.
